Rotorua Trust has granted $25,000 to a range of groups to help support those in need over Christmas.
Traditionally, the Trust contributes to the Salvation Army Christmas appeal, but with a number of Christmas events now cancelled due to COVID-19, the Trust has increased its community offering.
This year, the funding will go to The Salvation Army, Feeding Rotorua, Rotorua Whakaora and Rotorua Rough Sleepers.
Rotorua Trust chairman Stewart Edward says after another turbulent year, supporting these community organisations is more important than ever.
“This grant will help these organisations to provide the added extras to make Christmas a little better for Rotorua whanau.
“No one should have to go without at Christmas and these wonderful groups work hard in our community to make sure they don’t have to.”
Edward says the passion and commitment of these groups strengthens our community and the work they do makes a significant difference for a number of local families.
“The Trust is proud to support these community groups as they help to make a better Rotorua for all.”
