The Rotorua Trust has today announced it will seek community feedback about Trustee term of office.
Trust Chairman Grahame Hall said the Trust Deed, which was adopted in 1994, does not outline any term limit for trustees elected to the trust.
“At present, Trustees are elected by the community to the Trust at a triennial election. At the end of each term they can choose to make themselves available for re-electionhe said.
“Trustees have discussed the introduction of a term limit for a number of years. There is a wide range of views on the matter among Trustees.
“Trustees agree that a survey of the wider community is the best way to consider this matter. The outcome of the survey will be taken into account when Trustees consider Trustee term limits in the future,” he said.
APR Consultants will undertake the survey by telephone on behalf of the Trust. The survey will take place during the week commencing 17 February.
