Elections Update

    Another four people have put their names forward as nominees for trustee on the Rotorua Trust, bringing the number standing to 12 ahead of nominations closing at midday on Friday.

    The four new nominees are Jane Eynon-Richards, Mike Keefe, Philip Macalister and Raina Meha.

    They join Gregg Brown, Hasmukh (Hari) Chhagan, Stewart Edward, Karen Hunt, Jo-Anne La Grouw, Alison Perrin, Paulene Walsh and Charlie Windell who have already put their names forward.

    There are six trustee places to be filled by public vote, with nominations closing at midday on Friday. Voting will then take place from November 1 to midday on November 23.

    The Trust was formed in 1994 out of the sale of Rotorua Electricity Limited and had an initial capital of $32 million. Since then the capital has grown to around $160 million, with over $111 million invested back into the Rotorua community.

    As a community-focused, not-for-profit organisations, the Trust’s kaupapa is centered around making a better Rotorua for all.
